FergpostTools

Privacy Policy

Last updated 25 October 2026

This policy explains what information Fergpost Tools collects, how it is used and the choices you have. We have kept the language plain. Fergpost Tools is operated by Fergpost (“we”, “us”).

The short version

1. Who we are

Fergpost Tools is a website of free online tools run by Fergpost. If you have a question about this policy or about your information, use the contact form or write to fergpost242 [at] gmail [dot] com.

2. What we collect and how

What you enter into the tools

The tools save your work, such as invoices, client details, expenses, time entries, tasks, notes, logos you add and your settings, in your browser's local storage on your own device. We do not upload it to a server, and we cannot see it. Pictures and files you open in a tool, such as in the Image Resizer or the Color Palette tool, are processed in your browser and are not uploaded. The Password Generator saves only its option settings. The passwords it makes or checks are never saved.

Messages you send us

When you use the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, the topic you chose, the tool you named if any, and your message. The form also passes on the type of browser you use, which helps us fix problems. This reaches us as an email. We use it to read and answer your message.

Technical information

Like any website, the servers that deliver Fergpost Tools receive your IP address, the type of browser and device you use, the pages you request, the date and time, and the page that led you here. Our hosting provider may keep this in server logs, which are used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix faults. We do not use this to identify you, and we do not run analytics tools today.

Spam protection

To stop automated abuse of the contact form, a hidden field catches software that fills in every box, and we limit how many messages one visitor can send in a short period. To do that, the server keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, not the address itself, together with the times of your recent messages in a small temporary file. The limit works over 15 minutes, and old files are deleted automatically.

3. Cookies and local storage

We do not set cookies. We do use your browser's local storage, a small storage area that stays on your device, for three things:

None of this is sent to us. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings or by using the “clear” options inside each tool. If you use a shared or public computer, clear your data when you finish, because anyone using the same browser profile could see it.

4. Third-party services

A few things on the site involve other companies. When your browser contacts them, they receive your IP address and the usual browser details that come with any web request.

Links on this site may lead to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for how they handle your information.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.

5. How we use information

We do not use your messages for marketing, and we will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.

6. Our reasons for using information

In places where the law asks us to name a reason, ours are: our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site; answering a request you have made; legal obligations that apply to us; and your consent, where we ask for it.

7. Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the site, such as our website host and our email provider, and only so they can do that work for us. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety or property of others or ourselves, or if the business is transferred to a new owner. In that case, this policy would continue to apply to the information unless you are told otherwise.

8. How long we keep it

9. Keeping information safe

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we keep the amount of information we collect small. No website or storage method is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Because your tool data lives on your device, how safe it is depends on your device, so keep it updated and protected with a lock screen. Download a backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.

10. Your choices and rights

You can use every tool without giving us any information. You can clear the data the tools store at any time, turn off automatic currency updates and choose not to use the contact form.

For the messages and other information we hold about you, you can ask us to tell you what we have, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. Write to fergpost242 [at] gmail [dot] com and we will respond within 30 days. We cannot look up or recover what is stored inside your own browser, because we do not have it.

Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Nothing in this policy limits those rights.

11. Children

Fergpost Tools is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us a message, tell us and we will delete it.

12. Where information is handled

Our providers may handle server logs and messages in countries other than yours. Those countries may have different data protection rules. We choose providers that protect information to a reasonable standard.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we add accounts, analytics or advertising, we will update this policy before they go live. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site.
